Global Sepsis Awards 2017 - Apply and nominate now! / Fri, 17 Feb 2017
Global Sepsis Alliance and World Sepsis Day decided to honor excellent sepsis awareness and education initiatives and to recognize major achievements of governments, organizations and individuals consistent with the aims of the World Sepsis Declaration and World Sepsis Day movement on an annual basis.
The The deadline for applications and nominations is 31 March 2017.
The Global Sepsis Awards will be granted in three categories:
I. Governments and health care authorities - This award is aimed to honour governments and health care authorities who have made important contributions to reduce the death toll from sepsis by originating or endorsing initiatives and programs that are aimed to increase awareness for sepsis, contribute to a better understanding the epidemiology and burden of sepsis, or foster the establishment of quality improvement programs for the prevention, early recognition and appropriate treatment of sepsis on the national or global level. This award comes with a recognition plaque.
II. Non-governmental organization and patient advocate groups or healthcare provider groups – This award honours organizations that have contributed to a better understanding or the reduction of the burden of sepsis by increasing sepsis awareness and/or initiating quality improvement programs for sepsis prevention and management on the local, regional, national or international level. Two prize winners will be awarded in this category: One from a low income country and one from a high income country*. This honour includes a monetary award of 2,500 USD each.
III. Individual nominees must be able to demonstrate how their body of work has contributed to
sustainable changes in one or more of the following to practices or programs: a) sepsis prevention, b) early recognition, c) treatment, or d) rehabilitation from long term consequences of sepsis.
Two prize winners will be awarded in this category: One from a low income country and one from a high income country*. This honour includes a monetary award of 2,500 USD each.
* Low income country = low-income and lower-middle-income economies as provided by the World Bank
High income country = upper-middle-income and high-income economies as provided by the World Bank
